David Hewlett Appearance in Point Roberts

David Hewlett (Rodney McKay) will be appearing in Point Roberts, Wa, on July 4th as Grand Marshal of their parade.   See  http://www.allpointbulletin.com/front_page8.html  for details on the parade.  He will also be signing autographs and taking a picture with his fan club, the Vancouver Stargate Meetup, of which I am the proud organizer, afterwards.  Point Roberts is a peninsula belonging to the US, which can only be accessed through Canada.  David Hewlett owns a house there and lived there while filming Stargate Atlantis.  From the States, you need a passport and have to get through two borders to get there.  From Canada, you need a passport but only have to cross one border.  The lines to get across will probably be pretty long that day - especially since I'm spreading the word far and wide..

Thanks for stopping by my journal and letting me know about the parade and your group meeting up with The Hewlett. It sounds awesome. Unfortunately, I won't have my passport by then:(

Am I right in thinking this is the same meet-up group Shaddyr belongs to? I was commenting on a story of hers awhile back,she noticed I was from Bellingham and told me about your group. That was another log on the fire for me to stop dawdling and get my passport. Even though I'll have to give the parade a miss I look forward to meeting you guys in person soon.

OMG! It must kill a Hewlett fan to be so close and not be able to come see him. You have to get that passport, girl! When they start filming the Atlantis movie (November, according to rumors) our group will spend at least a day at the studio.

Yes, this is the group Shaddyr is in; she's my assistant organizer and more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Coincidentally, I am moving to Bellingham in August. I will still run the Vancouver group, though. It's too much fun to give up.

mckay_sheppard to help me through*g* You're right, I do need to get my passport. In addition to Stargate, there's 'Can't Stop The Serenity' and all the cons...

You're moving to Bellingham? I should introduce you to my friend Colleen. She's another big Atlantis/Hewlett fan. Come to think of it, she has a passport so I should tell her about your group and the parade.

Step 2: Get your passport

Step 3: Introduce me to Colleen

Step 4: Get wild and crazy and come to our meetings and events in Vancouver. Heck, we may even have some down in Bellingham. We already have three Seattle members, a Blaine member, and two or three members that travel frequently across the border.

Shaddyr is on the Island this weekend, but I'll see her Monday and tell her hi.
